JACKSONVILLE, Florida - Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, proudly congratulates Team Safariland members on their outstanding wins at the 2012 MidwayUSA/NRA Bianchi Cup Championship in Columbia, MO, May 23-26, 2012. After a tough competition, Koenig took home his 14th overall win and Julie Golob achieved top honors winning her 3rd Ladies National Championship with a 1907 144x. Both Koenig and Golob won using the new Safariland Model 014 Competition Holster introduced earlier this year.
"We are extremely proud of our team members and their outstanding performances at this year's Bianchi Cup," said Scott Carnahan, Equipment Marketing VP for Safariland and Team Safariland captain. He added, "This time-honored championship continues to be an incredibly challenging one, and one that requires diligence and dedication. We know how hard all the shooters train for this event and we take pride in our continuing commitment to supporting this prestigious competition."
Koenig is known for his dominating performances year after year in the Open Division at the NRA Bianchi Cup. This year was no exception as Doug went on to win this championship with a score of 1920 182x. Julie Golob took on the tough Ladies Division nudging out her fellow Team Safariland teammate, Jessie Duff, for the win. Both ladies shot an incredible score and finished 14th and 17th overall respectively.
Doug Koenig also retained his Shoot Off title for 2012 in the Colt Speed Event on Saturday. Only the top four finishers of the Open, Metallic and Production Divisions, as well as the top four female shooters and two from the Junior and Senior Division are part of this special event. Team Safariland shooter Jessie Duff placed first in the Women's Shoot Off. Further, Bianchi Cowboy mounted shooter Kenda Lenseigne also made an appearance at the event, winning the Celebrity Shoot Off for the 3rd year in a row.
Other Team Safariland members finished strong with Rob Leatham at 3rd place in Production division. Safariland would also like to congratulate Robert Vadasz for once again winning the Metallic Division.
The Safariland Model 014 Open Class Competition Holster is the next generation holster for both the Open and Limited Class shooter and it offers a host of advantages over other competition holsters, primarily in its ability to be customized. It is fully adjustable, compact and lightweight, and features an adjustable slider bar for the muzzle retainer that helps to keep the handgun from being knocked out of holster while seated.
An ambidextrous design, the Model 014 features a removable belt loop and height adjustment bar allowing the shooter to customize the positioning of the holster for optimum comfort and improved performance. For more information on the Model 014 visit
