APPLETON, Wis. – RECOIL Magazine, a publication of CMG West, LLC, has released its latest issue, number 64.

As we meander toward the end of the year, looking back over 2022 in a moment of self-reflection is never a bad thing. While it’s all too easy to riff on doom and gloom aspects of runaway inflation, supply chain disruptions, and rampant financial mismanagement at the federal level, when all is said and done, this year will probably go down as one of the better ones. As firearm owners and Second Amendment advocates, we may have been blessed with the most far-reaching Supreme Court decision of a generation, courtesy of Justice Clarence Thomas. 2A organizations were quick to capitalize on the Bruen decision, filing lawsuits on behalf of the community in California, New York, and Texas, in order to strike down some of the more egregious encroachments onto our rights, but it’s safe to say that the best is yet to come.

We look forward to California’s “assault weapons” ban being overturned, New York’s SAFE act being gutted, and the inevitable wailing and gnashing of teeth from various Bloomberg-funded organizations — all of which will take time and money, something the state has in abundance, courtesy of you, the taxpayer. You might have noticed that over the past year or so, we at RECOIL have been profiling various gun rights outfits, with one very noticeable exception. We feel that smaller, grassroots organizations have been punching way above their weight when it comes defending gun owners from overreaching government, and we’re not huge fans of cronyism and corruption.

So when you set out your goals and to-do list for 2023, please consider making a financial contribution to any of the 2A organizations we’ve featured in these pages. By doing so, you help to safeguard the rights of future generations and ensure the Second Amendment remains inviolate. We rely on it to protect our families and our republic, but it’s not going to protect itself.
