Organizations Stepping Up to Help FWC Officer Shot in Line of Duty

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Law Enforcement Officer Vann Streety was shot and seriously injured in the line of duty last month, and a local civic organization has stepped up to help raise money for his expenses.

Titusville Elks Lodge #2113 is holding an event on Saturday, Aug. 29, starting at 2 p.m., which will include a silent auction, bake sale, live music by The Elkerly Bros., DJs Sara & Dean, raffles, food and a cash bar. Proceeds from the event will go to Officer Streety.

The lodge is located at 2955 Columbia Blvd., Route 405. For more information call 407-349-2216.

The Elks have also set up an account called the Vann Streety Fund. Anyone wishing to donate to help Officer Streety and his family can make deposits at any Wachovia Bank.

In addition, the Wildlife Foundation of Florida has established a special fund to help cover extraordinary/unanticipated expenses for Officer Streety. If you would like to contribute to Officer Streety's recovery fund, you can send a check to:
