Appleton, WI — Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP), a leading provider of tactical equipment and training to law enforcement, has added several new products to its restraint line:
Transport Kit—Chain and Belt Restraint Systems
ASP’s revolutionary Transport Kit is designed specifically to interface with the company’s Rigid Ultra Cuffs, converting them to a waist restraint system that’s ideal for vehicle, aviation, courtroom and corrections use. The Transport Kit comprises a chain with a special fitting at the end that slides through the Transport Channel in the middle of the handcuffs. Once around the subject, the chain is slid onto the end of the fitting, then secured with the included one-step, quick-connect lock, which has over two-thousand possible cylinder keyways. Locking is fast and foolproof, as the key is not inserted or turned to engage the lock, only to remove it. Importantly, in keeping with ASP’s focus on officer safety, the system can be attached, adjusted and removed without ever having to remove the cuffs. The Transport kit is also available in a belt version, with seatbelt-grade webbing, for those situations where weight or noise are factors. Both the chain and belt versions are available with or without the Rigid Ultra Cuffs, and each kit includes the waist restraint, lock, two keys, compact storage case and laminated instruction card.

Rigid Ultra Cuffs—Light Weight, Maximum Control
ASP has continued to dramatically expand its groundbreaking Ultra Cuff Restraint line. In addition to the original chain and hinge cuffs, the offering now includes Rigid Cuffs in nearly a dozen variations. Rigid restraints are designed for maximum subject control, and also—uniquely—to integrate with ASP’s new optional Transport Kit. Like all Ultra Cuffs, the rigid version features a lightweight but incredibly-strong forged frame with edges that are rounded and smoothed for safety, flat bow contact areas for precise application, and dual-sided keyways for ease of use. Rigid Ultra Cuffs are available with steel or aluminum bows and a variety of interchangeable lock set/pawl options, as well as color-coded Identifier models and a self-release training version.

Rigid Ultra Cuff Case—Light, Fast and Versatile Carry Solution
This lightweight, exoskeleton-like polymer belt case holds ASP’s new Rigid Ultra Cuffs in an instantly-accessible, pop-out position. Simply press and slide the rear-mounted release, and remove the restraint in a ready-to-apply, tactical grip. Reverse the process to lock the cuffs back in place. On the back, ASP’s Snap-Loc clip is adjustable to fit any width belt or MOLLE gear, rotates 180 degrees for preferred draw position or seated comfort, and even features a spare handcuff key in its own storage compartment.

Tri-Fold Disposable Restraints—New Material, New Features
ASP has introduced the next generation of its popular Tri-Fold disposable restraints. The new version is made of a proprietary, advanced polymer that won’t dry out or become brittle, so the restraints can be stored indefinitely without having to “re-hydrate” or seal in moisture-retaining bags. They also feature a shim guard, as well as a secondary compression lock for added security. Tri-Folds are available in black or yellow; there’s also a red training-only version that can be applied and removed repeatedly, for efficient and economical instruction and practice. Available accessories include an also-updated Scarab Cutter that removes the restraints quickly and safely, and an assortment of carrying cases and optional pull cords.
