Wyoming To Move Forward On The Wyoming State Shooting Sports Complex

The Wyoming legislature moved to cement their case that the Cowboy State is the premiere destination in the United State for the firearm industry, hunting and shooting sports.

Both chambers of the Wyoming legislature moved decisively to allow for the debate, amendment and final passage of authorization to move forward on the Wyoming State Shooting Sports Complex – to be built in Cody, Wyoming.

The Wyoming State Shooting Sports Complex is being developed in partnership with industry donors and others. It will feature over 2,000 acres of ranges and opportunities for rifle, pistol, archery and shotgun. The facility will be able to host educational events, firearm festivals and international level competitions.

WYOMING TOURISM

“Tourism is Wyoming’s second largest economic driver,” said Nephi Cole, Director of Government Relations-State Affairs for NSSF. “When people visit Wyoming, they come for the culture of the West. There is no better way to share that then through the frontier and firearms experiences the Cowboy State offers.”

Credit for the success belongs to the bipartisan group of legislators in each chamber who picked up this effort and carried it over the finish line. Special thanks for the tireless work of Senator Larry Hicks and Representative Art Washut, as well as members of the Joint Conference Committee Senators Rothfuss and Smith, and Representatives Angelos and Bear.

“There were serious and significant questions on aspects of the project and legislation,” said Mr. Cole. “However, there’s no way anyone can doubt the commitment of the members of this legislature to their State, their Second Amendment principals and their support of hunting and shooting sports.”

The bill now moves to Governor Mark Gordon’s desk for his signature.
