FORT SMITH, Ark. – Walther Arms, Inc. congratulates first place shooter, and Performance Division team member, Hwansik Kim, on his recent win at the USPSA Florida State Championship. While shooting the PDP Match Steel Frame, Kim successfully defeated other contenders within the newly established Limited Optics Division.
“The PDP Match Steel Frame exceeds my expectations and has all the advantages I want,” said Hwansik Kim of Walther’s Performance Division. “The Florida State Championship was my first major match with it, and with the typical accuracy and reliability of shooting a Walther, I won my division. My shooting was more accurate and faster now that I have the PDP Match Steel Frame as my competition pistol.”
With an impressive track record, Kim has earned championship titles within the production division at the 2016 USPSA Area 1 Championship, 2019 Extreme Euro Open, and the 2019 Canadian IPSC National Championship. As an honorable mention, he placed second overall in the 2017 and 2018 US Carry Optics Nationals, and third overall in the 2020 US Carry Optics Nationals. In 2022, he placed ninth at the IPSC Handgun World Championship in Thailand using a complete factory Walther PDP 5".
“We are extremely proud of Hwansik’s performance during the Florida State Championship,” said Jens Krogh, vice president of marketing and product development for Walther Arms, Inc. “Not only is he an asset to our team, but his ability to consistently hone in his shooting skills and securing the win, ultimately proves what kind of game-changer the PDP Match Steel Frame really is in the competitive shooting space.”
