Planning Now For Year-End Success In September Shooting Industry

“Now is the time to start rationalizing your business plan for the end of the year,” advises retail expert Hank Yacek in Shooting Industry’s September article, “It’s Almost Christmastime!” “This takes time, work and coordination to have a successful year-end quarter,” he adds. Yacek provides ways to maximize retail profits from Black Friday through the end of the year to ensure the holiday season leaves retailers “as big a pile of cash as possible.”

Employing a full-time gunsmith can reap dividends for a firearms retailer, but the decision requires careful consideration. In the first of a three-part series, Bryan Hendricks’ “Is There A Gunsmith In The House?” considers the advantages of offering related services in-house or off-site.

“One reason a retailer should offer gunsmithing services — on-site or sending it out — is because a guy has to come into his gun shop twice: once to drop off the gun, and again to pick it up.
