Brian Hedeen, President of Viridian Weapon Technologies, was recently featured on the nationally syndicated television series iCrime with Elizabeth Vargas in a compelling interview about innovation in law enforcement and the evolution of officer-worn camera technology.
In the segment, Hedeen discussed Viridian's pioneering Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC) system, emphasizing the need for purpose-built tools that perform under the most critical circumstances.

"It is the only camera for law enforcement that was specifically designed to capture officer-involved shootings." Hedeen explained.
The interview spotlighted a recent real-world case in Vernon, Texas, where a Viridian WMC provided crucial, unobstructed video evidence from the firearm's point of view—footage that played a pivotal role in the successful prosecution of a violent suspect.
While dash and body cameras are widely used, Hedeen noted they often fail in the most critical moments.
"Dash cameras were designed for traffic stops. Body cameras are often blocked by an officer's arms in a shooting stance," he said. "This is the only camera built to capture what actually happens when a firearm is drawn."
The Vernon case made that distinction clear.
"It was the highlight of the trial—the star evidence. The jury saw exactly what happened, and they came back quickly with a verdict."
