The Wildlands Field operates through the 1892-pattern lever-action mechanism, a compact and durable system known for smooth cycling with revolver cartridges. Chiappa pairs the action with a 16.5-inch round barrel threaded 5/8×24, creating a compact profile that remains easy to maneuver in dense cover while preserving the performance expected from the .44 Magnum cartridge.
